Mass General Brigham (MGB) is a not‑for‑profit organization that provides patient care, research, teaching, and community service. The data‑integration team supports these missions by building and maintaining integration solutions across Epic, MuleSoft, HealthShare, and other platforms.

About the Team The team uses InterSystems HealthShare, MuleSoft, and SoftBear Ready API & Test Engine to develop HL7 v2, FHIR, REST, SOAP, and Pub/Sub event–messaging integrations. In addition to supporting standard Epic APIs, we create custom APIs as needed for MGB business requirements.

Job Summary The Integration Specialist is a key member of the digital team, responsible for designing, implementing, testing, maintaining, upgrading, and debugging data‑integration projects, especially for Epic. The role provides guidance and support to integration consumers and mentors peers.

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with data‑integration experts to translate business practices into integration solutions.

Offer subject‑matter recommendations to resolve technical roadblocks.

Lead and mentor peers on work procedures, technical issues, and task prioritization; help onboard and train new staff.

Facilitate discussions of business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, system builds, or configurations.

Work closely with vendors or developers to communicate functional specifications and clarify details.

Develop test plans, perform QA tasks, and provide ongoing support by identifying and resolving integration issues, acting as the escalation point for complex problems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).

5–7 years of IT experience and 3–5 years of data‑integration experience.

Proven experience with FHIR, REST, SOAP APIs, and HL7 v2 interfaces in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Support data integrations in healthcare, including building and troubleshooting APIs.

Document workflows and business processes.

Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Problem‑solving and quick‑learning abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other office productivity tools.

Preferred: experience with Epic, Ready API, and/or HealthShare.

Additional Job Details

Work Model: Onsite, flexible. Monday–Friday Eastern Business Hours. Required onsite presence 1–2x per week. Remote work requires a stable, secure, quiet, and compliant workspace.

Location: 399 Revolution Drive, Boston, MA.

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Day shift.

Employee Type: Regular. Grade: 7.

Pay Range: $92,102.40 – $134,056.00 per year.

Compensation includes base pay, benefits, career advancement, and recognition programs.
