Job Description Olsson’s Rail Traffic experts provide clients with a single resource for services such as traffic signal preemption design, grade‑crossing safety design, traffic operations studies, and related services. As a Senior Engineer on the Rail Traffic team, you will lead traffic and preemption analysis and design, conduct site visits, prepare plans or studies, and collaborate closely with team members on complex projects.
Occasional travel to job sites for observation and client meetings is expected.
Locations Remote or hybrid schedule available. Base locations include Irvine, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Denver, Loveland, Omaha, and Lincoln.
Responsibilities
Lead traffic and preemption analysis and design.
Conduct site visits and prepare plans or studies.
Collaborate closely with team members on complex projects.
Engage in multifaceted tasks essential for successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
8+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, or similar software.
Strong problem‑solving and math skills.

Colorado: $126,000 – $173,000 USD.
California: $129,000 – $177,000 USD.
