Job Description We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our Federal Tax Consulting Services team in a R&D Senior Tax Manager role focused on expanding revenue and delivering exceptional value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Deep understanding of IRC Sections 41 and 174 and related regulations and guidance.
Develop and execute project work plans.
Lead technical interviews with client personnel such as scientists and engineers.
Develop appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results.
Drive business development and sales growth.
Manage risk and conduct technical review of R&D projects.
Lead Federal and state controversies related to R&D tax credits and Section 174.
Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast‑paced, interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations.
Strong data management skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills.
Ability to mentor and develop managers and young professionals, including on‑the‑job technical training and coaching; exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related field (Master’s in Taxation a plus).
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in public accounting, with strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm backgrounds.
Proven expertise in R&D tax credit consulting, with emphasis on Sections 41 and 174.
Active CPA, EA, or PE required.
Demonstrated success in managing client relationships, leading teams, and developing business.
