Job Description The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support the continuous improvement initiatives per the Brooklyn Park Manufacturing Strategic Plan. Optimize processes for manufacture and product flow including downtime mitigation, root cause investigations and cost savings initiatives. In addition, this role will conceptualize, justify, design, build and lead cross‑functional teams to employ new tools, fixtures, and small‑scale automation assembly machines that enable greater safety, throughput and quality within our production environment utilizing state‑of‑the‑art tools and methodologies.
Job Duties
Support operations and new product/process/equipment development.
Drive the validation of equipment and processes as required (IQ, OQ, PQ).
Assess and implement capacity planning, cost improvement and facilities layout for equipment moves and additions.
Partner with resources such as suppliers and Olympus sites to resolve technical issues or improve processes or products.
Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities.
Innovate and implement process improvements.
Lead and participate in cross‑functional project teams.
Review prints for new and existing products.
Follow GWIs, GSOP and own MP’s to ensure control of product/process design.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor degree (B.S.) in a science/engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
Experience scoping and designing tooling, fixturing, and benchtop level automation.
Experience with statistical data analysis.
Experience with risk management documentation.
Experience preferred in Medical Device and/or defense or aerospace.
Ability to work with/lead a cross‑functional team.
Technical writing skills.
Experience/familiarity with MES, IIOT, corporate IT infrastructure. Solidworks, Oracle, Agile, PLC experience preferred.
