We are seeking a skilled
Controls Engineer to join our Wilmington, MA office and lead automation and control projects for industrial processes and machinery. This role focuses on
PLC programming, DCS programming, HMI/SCADA design, instrumentation, control panel design, and system commissioning . The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with industrial automation, strong programming skills, and the ability to implement complex control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement
PLC, DCS, and RTU control systems .
Configure and program
HMI/SCADA systems
using Ignition or Rockwell platforms.
Develop
control system architecture , schematic diagrams, and system documentation.
Implement
industrial automation protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, HART, OPC, and Foundation Fieldbus.
Program using Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, VBA, .NET, and SQL.
Lead or support project commissioning and start‑up at client sites.
Ensure compliance with
life science and industrial regulations,
including cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, and validation standards.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and act as project lead when needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science .
Minimum 5 years of experience in
industrial controls engineering .
Proficiency with
Rockwell Automation PLCs ,
HMI/SCADA platforms , and
Emerson DeltaV DCS .
Hands‑on experience with
industrial instrumentation
and automation protocols.
Strong programming knowledge in
VBA, .NET, and SQL .
Ability to travel up to 25% to client sites.
Stable work history required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
industrial networking : fiber, wired, wireless.
Knowledge of
electrical schematics, power distribution , and NEC standards.
Familiarity with
S88 Batch processes
and industrial process validation.
Leadership and client‑facing experience.
Salary & Benefits
$110,000 - $125,000 per year
100% Onsite work model (office or client site)
