What to Expect
The Autopilot Firmware t team builds systems that enable engineers to develop, validate, iterate, and deliver Tesla's cutting-edge AI platform. As a part of this team, you will create highly capable test frameworks, scalable infrastructure, and backend services that empower teams to test, analyze, and continuously improve Autopilot firmware with minimal constraints.
In this role, you will design scalable test platforms with novel testing capabilities that are required for new Tesla products and features. You will architect and implement systems that automate test scheduling and execution, visualize and extract insights from complex data, and drive continuous improvement across products and infrastructure. You will deliver robust, modular, and intuitive software that accelerates development cycles, improves efficiency, and ensures Tesla's products remain at the forefront of the industry. In a fast-paced environment where innovation happens at scale, your contributions will directly shape the reliability, performance, and quality of Tesla's Autopilot systems.
What You'll Do
Design, implement, and maintain software frameworks to support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and simulation-based testing for Autopilot firmware and software
Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions to automate CI/CD workflows for the Firmware Platforms team
Build scalable systems to aggregate, visualize, and analyze large volumes of test data across diverse test variants
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure tools simplify workflows, improve productivity, and enhance platform capabilities
Integrate LLM-based tooling to accelerate test failure analysis
Deliver clean, maintainable, and modular code that accelerates development and supports rapid deployment of automated testing systems
What You'll Bring
Strong foundation in software engineering principles and advanced proficiency in Python, including object-oriented design, multi-threading, and scripting
Demonstrated ownership of HIL and/or SIL testing frameworks
Hands‑on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Singularity and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or Artifactory
Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments and proficient in Bash or other scripting languages
Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality, scalable software solutions

Expected Compensation $132,000 - $390,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
