About The Team

On the Merchant Strategy & Operations team, our mission is to have best‑in‑class restaurant selection for Consumers and build products and services for our Merchants to grow their businesses profitably on DoorDash. We work on problems ranging from acquiring and onboarding new merchants to building a positive experience and solving pain points for existing merchants, to growing their sales through new products and services.

About The Role

As a Merchant Strategy & Operations Manager at DoorDash, you will lead the support experience for our merchants, owning both the strategy and the execution of how we serve them once they’re live on the platform. You’ll be responsible for transforming support into a tech‑first, scalable, and seamless experience that drives merchant satisfaction, retention & loyalty.

Opportunity Highlights

Strategize – Build the strategy for helping merchants succeed once they’re live on DoorDash by providing fast and seamless solutions when merchants face issues, minimizing operational friction. Experiment, Analyze, and Implement – Use data‑driven decision‑making and sound business judgment to drive go‑to‑market and execution for new initiatives to help merchants have the best experience on DoorDash. Influence – Work cross‑functionally with product, operations, marketing, sales, finance, and analytics teams to land key initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, banking, technology, or related experience; high‑growth or early‑stage startup experience and experience leading a team are a plus. Analytical mindset, dig deep to understand a problem using both quantitative and qualitative data; SQL experience is a strong plus. Ownership mentality and excitement to think about problems using first principles, inspiring action to create the future. Leadership ability – inspire followership across levels and functions. Excellent communication – concise, articulate, and able to distill complex topics for stakeholders at all levels, both written and verbal. Strategic planning – build a plan to hit goals and consistently operate with focus and drive. Experience launching finance, tax, and/or reporting products for customers. Experience managing teams and driving large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives. Bias for action, energized by ambiguity, and take ownership from start to finish. Curiosity and innovation – always look for ways to improve. Problem‑solving from first principles and thoughtful challenge of the status quo. Data‑driven decisions – comfortable pulling data in SQL or modeling in Excel. Persuasive relationship‑builder – clear communication and adaptability across teams and levels.

Compensation

Pay range: $136,000—$200,000 USD. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. In addition to base salary, the role includes opportunities for equity grants.

Paid Time Off Details

For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year. For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (≈6.7 hours/month at 40 hours/week) and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (≈5.8 hours/month at 40 hours/week).
