Vaco has partnered with a Technology company in the Greater Boston area and they are looking to hire a Director of Reporting & Technical Accounting.
Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, earnings releases, and related disclosures.
Own the annual report process, coordinating with Legal, Investor Relations, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting aligned with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
Serve as the in-house technical accounting authority, providing guidance on complex areas.
Draft technical memos and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
Monitor emerging accounting standards and lead the implementation of new guidance.
Act as primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit.
Partner with internal audit and the Controller’s team to evaluate and strengthen processes.
Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA required.
10+ years of relevant experience, including a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and public company experience.
Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and technical accounting concepts.
Proven experience drafting and reviewing SEC filings.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
