WindBorne Systems is supercharging weather forecasts with a unique proprietary data source: a global constellation of next-generation smart weather balloons targeting the most critical atmospheric data. We’re looking for a Talent Sourcer - Contract to help us build the next generation of our team during a critical growth phase.
This position focuses on
research, outreach, and candidate pipeline development , identifying and engaging exceptional talent for our most strategic technical and operational roles.
You’ll work closely with the People and Hiring teams to keep a steady pipeline of qualified candidates moving into interviews, ensuring that WindBorne’s hiring efforts stay proactive and efficient.

Responsibilities
Partner with hiring managers and the People team to
develop a clear understanding of each hiring manager’s needs
and define sourcing priorities.
Identify and engage qualified candidates for specialized roles (software, hardware, firmware, and operations).
Build and maintain robust, diverse pipelines using creative sourcing strategies (LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, technical forums, referrals, etc.).
Manage research lists, outreach campaigns, and candidate tracking within
Ashby
(our ATS).
Share regular updates on sourcing metrics, outreach success rates, and market trends.
Maintain a high standard of documentation and data integrity throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of engineering sourcing or recruiting experience (in-house or agency).
Proven success in sourcing for highly technical or niche roles.
Proficiency with sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, Ashby or similar ATS).
Strong written communication and candidate engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple roles simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Curiosity and passion for technology, science, and WindBorne’s mission.
Experience sourcing or engineering in a startup environment is a strong plus.
Duration: 3–6 months, with potential to extend or convert
$30-40/hr** We are considering a range of backgrounds and experience levels for this position and will adjust our offers accordingly to be competitive with market rates.
