SENIOR REGIONAL BUSINESS PARTNER - SOUTH AMERICA (SAO PAULO) JOB PURPOSE Support and enable HR performance and extraordinary growth by ensuring regional Americas objectives are delivered, implemented and translated into the South American Schools which at this time is Sao Paulo and other locations in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina Supporting and engaging the schools in the South America area while driving a common NAE and Americas vision. Ensure excellent effective, proactive , operational excellence, risk and legal compliance, customer service, extremelly high quality reporting in the schools, and excellent operational yearly processes, while also enhancing and helping maintain the unique cultures and differentiations of the schools and bringing efficiencies and reducing risk into common back office elements. Ensure proper NAE processes and approvals are followed and documented. Working closely with the Americas Region, the centers of excellence at the region and globally to translate and bridge between NAE , Americas and Schools. Willing and able to travel nationally and internationally between 25% of the time. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Business Growth and Reputation ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING Responsible for helping to execute operational HR Strategy Americas within the school in alignment with the Americas Regional HR Director and Americas regional team. Continuing to support in building and increasing risk protocols, back office processes while enhancing – in collaboration and participation with Americas and Global HR teams- the capability of the HR Directors to enable them to proactively support the businesses plans and deliver exceptional HR service provision. Guide, monitor and assist HR Managers within the Schools with HR projects. Ensure specific and immediate support to the Schools that are being integrated (in alignment with centers of excellence) and those that require special attention and support to enhance their performance from an HR Side. Accountable for ensuring consistency with Group policies and procedures with consideration for local legislation. Responsible for driving Employee Engagement through local management teams, guiding and supporting in line with survey results. Act as a brand advocate, embedding EmpowerUs, Regional Crushing It values. ADMINISTRATION, COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING Ensures and follows up with compliance with Nord Anglia Education and School policies and federal/state governmental agencies Ensures payroll processing for the school is completely correctly and documentation and approvals are properly done, revised to reduce risks and documented in the region. Review/ approve or reject terminations following protocol, if severances required- ensure approval is following chart of authority levels. Approve deviation requests for background checks if Motor vehicle related only and with condition they wont drive – Review and collect all litigation processes in location and termination serverances costs. Ensures all schools have accurate information is kept properly and in a timely fashion, with adequate and high quality data inputted in the HRIS systems (success factors), in payroll systems and other systems and that they are aligned, in collaboration with Data quality and systems integration team. And establishes fast corrective actions to reduce risks on data quality and misalignment. PROCESSES OVERSIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITY TO PREPARE HR TEAMS FROM SCHOOLS TO BE SUCCESSFUL Align and review in a timely manner, in preparation to the regular yearly operational processes with extreme detail orientation and data to support HR teams with operational processes and data, showing strong understanding of differentiations of each of the schools- while also ensuring schools continue to drive efficient and effective structures to drive growth but also efficiency and strong collaboration between HR, Finance, MAC and other departments October- Salary frame overview and market comparisons November/December- Review growth and OTOS process preparation (Outstanding Teachers for Oustanding Schools Workforce planning) to support process for early approval of teacher positions December- Follow up with schools individually on Engagement Survey Actions and support cross learning of best practices. January- Salary increase process early approval process March- Operational meeting April- Follow up with schools individually on Pulse Engagement Survey Follow up May- Budget process and approval of other direct and indirect positions EMPLOYEE RELATIONS Governance and development of a positive employee relations environment across the region, promoting effective communication between employees and the business to ensure commitment and motivation. Responsible for ensuring all in countries policies and procedures reflect local legislation and obligations to government institutions and regulatory authorities for the business. Ensure consistency with Group where possible. Support in performing investigations if school is not equipped to follow up Escalation point for disciplinary and grievance cases. Procedures and practices must be both timely and fair and comply with Company policy and local labour laws. Recommend action in with senior manager disciplinary/grievance cases, liaising with the Americas HR Director Coach and develop the local regional HR directors to establish effective HR administration practices that are effective and efficient; saving costs and generating revenue where possible. Approve terminations following proper processes, procedures and guidelines to minimize risk. Align on practices with schools and in alignment with Americas HR team, and when required regional legal counsel, to ensure consistent approach in common employee relations matter to reduce risks. To manage the provision of external legal services on matters of employment law. Over time would be expected to support to align under one legal counsel firm per intracity/intracountry labor support. INTEGRATIONS Closely support integration of new schools by building relationships and supporting them by engaging with team members to drive change and understanding. Collaborate closely with integration manager, data quality and systems integration manager and other regional positions to ensure proper planning of processes and process follow up and follow through. Ensuring fast and permanent solutions to challenges brought up in integration REQUIREMENTS Qualifications/Training Minimum bachelor degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related area Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience and leadership experience and of whom at least 3 years in multi country/matrix experience working in industries with highly qualified staff members (such as education, engineering services, consulting services organziations or hospitals ) Spanish and Portuguese Native, and Business English Able and willing to travel throughout our schools South America and every month or month and a half to our regional office in Miami (25%-30% travel expectation) Experience/ Knowledge • Demonstrated extended experience and knowledge with employment Law and regulations in Brazil and other South American countries preferred • Preferred awareness or exposure to other South American locations • Experience with working in shared serviced environment • Experience working in a matrix organization • Experience of working and influencing team members and with senior stakeholders.
