Overall Job Summary The Team Leader assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with executing operational, sales, and merchandising objectives, delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. The Team Leader promotes a safe and productive work environment for all team members, customers, and vendors, and trains staff on policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
Maintain regular, predictable attendance and work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Uphold and enforce policies and procedures to create a safe and productive environment.
Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
Greet the Customer.
Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants.
Recommend Product Solutions.
Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
Perform duties during 95% of the day (regular duties may vary daily):
Execute promotional and seasonal merchandising activities.
Perform opening/closing procedures.
Transport and deposit cash to the bank.
Asses store conditions and assign duties.
Organize and prioritize workflow via daily planner.
Recover merchandise.
Participate in mandatory freight process.
Perform price change activities.
Resolve customer complaints and ensure a Legendary shopping experience.
Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarms.
Communicate job functions, responsibilities, and financial goals to team members.
Operate cash registers/computers, supervising cash handling procedures.
Assist team members with policies and procedures.
Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required.
Operate forklifts and balers.
Complete all documentation related to duties.
Obtain required licenses or certifications.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, you must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
Ability to perform and execute principle responsibilities of team members.
Working Conditions
Favorable indoor environment with moderate noise.
Shifts usually no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
Promote a safe, productive workplace and adhere to company safety training and guidelines.
Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces; lighting and temperature are adequate.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds.
Push or pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
Occasionally lift or reach overhead.
Frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
Move throughout the store for an entire shift.
Access all areas of the store safely.
Operate all store equipment (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register).
Operate and use all necessary equipment; forklift and baler requirements do not apply under 18.
Read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills.
Process information/merchandise through the point-of-sale system.
Contact poultry/birds.
Complete required training and certifications for propane dispensing (not applicable under 18).
Travel as required in support of district needs.
Drive or operate a vehicle for business needs.
Position is non-sedentary.
Complete all required training and certifications for various business needs.
