Position Accounting Manager Location Sacramento, CA (Hybrid – on-site and regional travel required) Schedule Full Time, Exempt, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Compensation $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience Job Summary We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Manager to join our Sacramento-based team. This role plays a key part in overseeing financial operations and supporting our growing portfolio of affordable housing communities. If you’re a detail-oriented leader with a passion for community impact, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Lead and mentor 1–3 accounting staff with weekly check-ins and annual reviews. Oversee financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance across 45 entities. Manage accounts payable, vendor setup, and intercompany transactions. Coordinate construction draws and cost certifications for LIHTC projects. Post payroll and perform reconciliations for multiple entities. Support budgeting and intercompany cash flow projections. Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless financial integration. Recommend process improvements and uphold internal financial policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of supervision. Strong knowledge of GAAP, audits, construction accounting, and nonprofit finance. Experience with property management or affordable housing accounting preferred. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. A collaborative mindset and initiative-driven approach. Must successfully pass criminal, DOJ, and other background checks.
