Westside Design
Westside Design
is a design practice driven by innovation and efficiency, redefining how homes are designed and built on LA’s westside. Born from a powerhouse collaboration with
Westside Build , our team brings together decades of high-end single-family residential design experience, spec building expertise, and cutting-edge digital fabrication/technological integration to deliver exceptional homes at an approachable price point.
Westside Design
is a young and dynamic studio dedicated to crafting homes that are thoughtful, high-quality, and deeply connected to their context. Our projects range from internal spec developments to client-driven custom homes and fire rebuilds for communities impacted by the recent wildfires.
We believe great design is never a one-size-fits-all solution. Every home should reflect the people who live in it, the land it’s built on, and the broader environment. Our approach is joyful yet rigorous, experimental yet rooted in craftsmanship — guiding clients through a collaborative, design-forward process to create homes that are elevated, personal, and enduring.
We’re committed to designing resilient homes faster, smarter, and better. By integrating advanced technology, digital fabrication, and offsite construction, we cut through inefficiencies, reduce costs, and accelerate timelines in partnership with our build team.
As we launch this new practice, we’re looking for design-forward, ambitious collaborators who are excited to push boundaries, rethink workflows, and shape the future of homes in Los Angeles.
Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Project Architect to lead the development of custom single-family homes through the Design Development, Permitting, and Construction Documentation phases. The role will have a focus on leading documentation, consultant coordination, permitting, and construction detailing. The ideal candidate is confident working in Revit, experienced with the coordination and detailing of single-family projects, and capable of managing junior staff and external collaborators in a fast-paced environment.
This role is positioned as the technical/documentation lead and consultant/contractor-facing PM throughout the production, documentation, and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the production and management of detailed construction documents in Revit
Coordinate closely with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to translate design intent into buildable, code-compliant solutions
Oversee and assemble documentation for permitting
Manage construction administration tasks including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and revisions (as needed) - responsibilities during construction will vary depending on whether projects are constructed by Westside Build team or by others
Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality control and efficient workflow
Maintain a clear understanding of project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Support the design team in developing technically viable solutions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
7-10 years of professional experience working on custom single-family residential projects (ideally in Los Angeles)
Advanced proficiency in Revit, including project setup, modeling, detailing, and documentation workflows
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
Expertise in architectural detailing, technical coordination, and document standards
Strong communication and team leadership skills, especially when working with junior staff and outside consultants
