We’re seeking a visionary, hands‑on Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will advance our mission — balancing operational excellence with a deep commitment to quality, safety, and community partnership.
About Lakeland Behavioral Health
Acute inpatient psychiatric care for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors
Residential treatment programs for children and adolescents, including specialized tracks for sexually maladaptive behaviors
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adolescents
Trauma‑informed, evidence‑based therapies such as CBT, experiential therapies, and family counseling
Accredited educational programming through Lakeland Regional School

Job Duties/Responsibilities
Be instrumental in developing a culture that emphasizes high quality care and patient safety.
Manage day‑to‑day operations and staff to achieve key performance areas: effective patient care outcomes, appropriate fiscal management, licensure and accreditation maintenance, business development, medical staff compliance.
Organize management of the facility through departmentalization, delegation, and alignment of responsibilities.
Create and maintain a network of local constituency groups.
Appraise leadership team performance, assess competencies, and provide coaching or corrective action.
Ensure staff participation in in‑service and continuing education programs.
Recruit allied health professionals and psychiatrists to expand service offerings.
Work with corporate contracting team to manage and direct contract negotiations and compliance.
Lead development of continuum of care including outpatient services and community‑based programs.
Serve as the final authority for resolution of staff performance concerns.
Attend and chair periodic meetings with governing body, medical staff, executive management, and other departments.
Operate with the highest personal integrity and professionalism.
Remain current in national healthcare initiatives and participate in organizations such as NAPHS.
Maintain effective survey readiness and compliance with accreditation standards.
Ensure adherence to Corporate Compliance program.
Confirm and lead accurate Governing Board reporting and quarterly calls.
Guarantee prompt, thorough follow‑up of patient safety issues.
Support QAPI activities and training.
Demonstrate high leadership skills, assist in long‑range goal development.
Identify critical issues and maintain deep understanding of marketplace.
Manage performance to meet financial goals, practice financial acumen.
Support the executive team to achieve mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities
Enhance the organization’s reputation and broaden community involvement.
Earn trust and establish credibility with staff and leadership; be visible within the hospital.
Ensure financial soundness and positive operating margin.
Increase occupancy, payor mix, and customer satisfaction.
Shift culture toward innovation, revenue diversification, and virtual programs.

Build a culture focused on performance improvement, quality, and service excellence.
Develop a clear strategy to position the organization as a leader in mental health, addiction, and recovery.
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Marketing, Clinical Discipline, or related discipline is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Knowledge And Work Experience
Minimum of three to five years of senior leadership or CEO experience in behavioral health, acute care, or managed care.
Thorough knowledge of facility administration and clinical operations; experience turning around an organization.
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with inflexible timeframes and frequent priority changes.
Initiative‑taking, self‑directed with effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
Excellent people skills and ability to interact professionally at all levels.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and react to emergencies.
Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and accreditation standards.
