We are seeking an experienced law enforcement professional to join our security company as a Partner and SORA Qualifying Agent. This key leadership position will oversee security operations while fulfilling New Jersey SORA requirements for our security business. The ideal candidate will leverage their law enforcement background to ensure regulatory compliance, lead security operations, and contribute to the company's strategic growth in IT, site security, and executive protection services.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Licensing Serve as the company's Qualifying Agent under NJ SORA requirements
Maintain required licenses and certifications, including: New Jersey SORA Security Officer Instructor Certification
NJ Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license
Valid New Jersey firearms instructor certification (if applicable for armed services)
Ensure compliance with all federal and state security industry regulations
Oversee licensing and certification processes for security personnel
Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies
Operations Management Direct security operations across IT security, physical security, and personal protection services
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for all security services
Oversee training programs for security personnel
Conduct threat assessments and risk analysis for client engagements
Manage emergency response protocols and crisis management procedures
Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure comprehensive security solutions
Business Development & Client Relations Leverage law enforcement network to develop new business opportunities
Participate in contract negotiations and client consultations
Build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders
Represent the company at industry events and professional associations
Contribute to proposal development for government and private sector contracts
Recruit, train, and mentor security personnel
Ensure compliance with training requirements under SORA
Develop and maintain training curricula for security officers
Oversee performance evaluations and professional development programs
Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Requirements
Education & Experience Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience (required for SORA Qualifying Agent status)
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field preferred
Active or retired law enforcement officer in good standing
Experience in private security operations preferred
Licenses & Certifications Required Must qualify under N.J.A.C. 13:55A-3.2 for SORA Qualifying Agent status
New Jersey SORA Security Officer Instructor Certification
Valid New Jersey driver's license
Must be able to obtain and maintain any additional required state/federal security licenses
FBI background check clearance
New Jersey State Police background check clearance
Knowledge & Skills Comprehensive understanding of NJ SORA regulations and requirements
Knowledge of federal and state security industry regulations
Familiarity with IT security concepts and cybersecurity best practices
Strong understanding of physical security and executive protection protocols
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proficiency in security operation planning and risk assessment
Additional Qualifications Must be at least 25 years of age (SORA requirement)
U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
Clean criminal record
Ability to pass drug screening
Valid firearms permits if applicable to service offerings
