Associate Director, Student Conduct & Community Standards
Job Summary
The Associate Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards assists with the overall coordination and administration of the student conduct process, including database management, correspondence with students, and tracking sanction completion.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as a conduct educator and adjudicate alleged violations of college policy.
Coordinate and facilitate the training of Residence Life staff.
Oversee the Area Coordinators regarding their role as conduct educators by providing guidance and mentorship and ensuring effective case management.
Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough records for all student conduct cases.
Assist with the case management of incident reports (e.g., review caseload, assign cases for adjudication, and ensure that all cases are resolved within an appropriate timeframe).
Assist in the coordination of the student conduct process for alleged violations of college policies involving student groups.
Develop and deliver educational programs that facilitate the understanding of college policy and other relevant topics.
Communicate with parents and other relevant parties regarding student behavior in accordance with FERPA guidelines.
Represent the department on pertinent committees, task forces, and projects.
Supervise, support, and mentor the Graduate Assistant for Student Conduct & Community Standards and/or graduate student intern.
Manage and maintain the department's website and MyRollins page.
Assist with the implementation of the department's assessment plan.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
Master's Degree in higher education administration or related field.
Minimum of two years of professional work experience in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
Student conduct experience.
Knowledge of FERPA, CLERY, Title IX, VAWA, and other applicable state and federal laws.
Strong computer skills. Experience working with Banner and Maxient software.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience adjudicating alleged violations of college policy and facilitating an educational student accountability process.
Knowledge of relevant case law and best practices related to student conduct.
Experience training hearing officers and other relevant training and advising experience.
Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships across campus with special attention to Student Outreach and Resource Center, Residence Life Campus Safety, Office of Title IX, Center for Campus Involvement, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Counseling and Psychological Services.
Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with students, faculty, staff, and families to establish and maintain good working relationships.
Ability to analyze complex situations and to make sound judgments and decisions.
Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills. Ability to effectively present information to large groups of people.
Ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently is required.
Work Environment
Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in a community/field environment.
Work requires visual strain and regular use of a computer.
Able to work flexible hours which includes evenings and weekends as needed.
