Days Schedule

Location: Feinberg/Galter; FL 07

Competitive hourly compensation + shift differential. Non‑exempt position, eligible for overtime.

Benefits eligible role: new employees eligible for benefits to begin on the first of the month following start date.

The Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Technical Duties

Provide neurological testing and/or monitoring in standard, long‑term, or ambulatory EEG, EMG and NCS.

May also provide visual, auditory, or somatosensory EP or electronystagmography, intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM).

Work closely with other NTC staff, including physicians.

Responsibilities

Complete all required paperwork before the study is performed, including relevant patient history, clarify orders, and complete billing information upon procedure completion.

Independently prepare patients for tests and/or monitoring by accurately placing recording electrodes and using established protocols.

Recognize technically inadequate signals and obtain troubleshooting assistance if necessary.

Recognize abnormalities or potential changes and communicate to a Coordinator or appropriate neurologist.

Maintain equipment in a clean and organized condition, stocking supplies as needed.

Record studies and enter appropriate notations and clinical observations.

Encourage teamwork through interdepartmental communication and constructive problem resolution.

Provide training for new Neurodiagnostic Technicians and student preceptors.

Patient Care / Age‑Specific Responsibilities

Explain procedures to patients, address questions, reassure and relax patients, and assist older adults as necessary; provide basic personal hygiene assistance when required.

Primary interaction with adult and geriatric patients; neonatal interaction may be required for technicians performing EEGs.

Additional Functions

Provide technical or administrative coverage in other NTC areas as necessary.

Participate in departmental in‑services, monthly staff meetings, and continuing education.

Assist in report typing, distribution, filing and other storage duties.

Provide consistent feedback and suggestions for improvement to the NTC Resource Coordinator and/or Manager.

Provide written and/or verbal feedback on Neurodiagnostic Technician and/or student preceptor performance.

Quality Management Responsibilities

Participate in organizational and departmental quality improvement activities.

Communicate customer satisfaction issues to appropriate individuals.

Provide ideas and suggestions for process improvements within the department.

Qualifications Required Education / Experience and Licenses / Certifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

CPR certified in basic cardiac life support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.

Registry in the respective discipline (EEG, EMG) corresponding with the clinical area of work for the institution.

Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).

Registered Nerve Conduction Technologist (R.NCS.T.) through the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) or Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) through the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM).

In lieu of registry, candidates may be considered who are board‑registry eligible and complete registration within 12 months of hire date.

Preferred Licenses / Certifications and Regulatory Agency

In addition to EEG or EMG, registration in one or more of the following disciplines: EEG, EP, CLTM, CNIM.

Registration through ABRET for EP, CLTM, CNIM.

Prior experience in multiple ENDT modalities.
