Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist – Neurological Testing Center (Full Time, Rotating Nights)
Location: Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Feinberg/Galter; FL 07, Chicago, IL
Position Type: Full‑time, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts, rotating nights 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (including holidays).
Salary: $27.92 – $43.28 per hour (placement based on experience and equity).

Description The Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist provides neurological testing and/or monitoring in the following modalities:
Electroencephalography (EEG), ambulatory or long‑term
Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies
Visual, auditory, or somatosensory evoked potentials (EP) or electronystagmography
Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM)
The role collaborates closely with the Neurological Testing Center (NTC) staff and physicians, ensuring accurate preparation, data acquisition, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Responsibilities
Complete required paperwork before studies, clarify orders, and provide billing information.
Independently prepare patients for tests, properly place electrodes, and follow protocols.
Recognize technical issues, troubleshoot, and obtain assistance when needed.
Identify abnormalities, notify coordinators or neurologists promptly.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and inventory supplies.
Record studies and enter clinical observations.
Promote teamwork through interdepartmental communication.
Provide training to new technicians and student preceptors.
Assist with technical/administrative coverage in other NTC areas as required.
Participate in departmental in‑services, staff meetings, and continuing education.
Support quality improvement activities and report customer satisfaction issues.
Offer written or verbal feedback on technician performance to NTC leadership.
Patient Care / Age‑Specific Responsibilities
Explain procedures, address questions, and ensure patient comfort and relaxation.
Assist older adults and assess impairments affecting testing.
Assist with personal hygiene as needed.
Provide neonatal support for EEGs when required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic cardiac life support (BLS) CPR certification via American Heart Association.
Registry in the specific discipline (EEG or EMG).
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) through ABRET (for EEG).
Registered Nerve Conduction Technologist (R.NCS.T.) through AAET or CNCT through ABEM (for EMG).
Alternatively, board‑eligible candidates who complete registration within 12 months of hire.
Preferred: Registry in additional modalities (EP, CLTM, CNIM) through ABRET.
Prior experience in multiple ENDT modalities is an advantage.
