Field Service Engineer – Dornier MedTech
Position Summary: Delivers on Dornier MedTech’s commitment to quality customer service. Utilizes technical and communication skills in providing total preventive and corrective maintenance for Dornier MedTech medical equipment with the objective of delivering the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
This is an at-will position. Employment in this job is not for any fixed period of time, and either the Company or the employee may terminate employment at any time, with or without advance notice, and with or without cause. The Company may change the terms or conditions of employment at any time.
Compensation: $90,000–$105,000.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides preventive and corrective maintenance as directed and required.
Responsible for site installation and de‑installation, including packing, unpacking, and inspecting equipment.
Responsible for the installation of Technical Bulletins.
Performs the administrative duties associated with the job, including expense reports, time cards, parts requisitions, installation reports, service reports, and other reporting duties.
Responsible for maintenance of assigned tools, test equipment, and technical spare parts.
Assists sales and marketing operations, ensuring overall success of corporate goals.
Travel: 50%–70% travel, occasional overnight stays required.
Ongoing overtime and odd hours possible.
On‑call standby duty as required.
Responsible for developing and maintaining good customer relations.
Job Requirements
Education/Qualifications: Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent. Valid driver’s license. Must be insurable for motor vehicle operation. Must maintain ability to clear security access for travel requirements. Must possess a personal credit card in case of emergencies.
Experience: 5–7 years technical related service experience.
Highly preferred: X‑ray Field Service Experience.
Aptitude: Mathematical skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts; reasoning ability; interpret instructions.
Operational Skills:
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents.
Technical and computing knowledge in service of equipment including diagnostic x‑ray, lithotripsy, lasers, ultrasound; operating test equipment.
Physical Demands:
Must sit, occasionally stand and walk; lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Visual requirements: close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
