Job Description WSP is currently initiating a search for a
Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
to join our team in Oradell, NJ. The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power Generation Team and be part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact
Development of instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects
Coordination with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Coordination with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects
Provision of instrumentation and control engineering support to clients in the form of developing criteria and specifications for their new power projects, reviewing documents generated by sub-contractors and equipment vendors, monitoring construction progress and responding to questions from construction contractors
Field commissioning support on project start‑up efforts
Exercising responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
7+ years of Power Generation Instrumentation and Controls experience
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment
Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
Experience power plant control systems
Network and SCADA Design
Experience working in SmartPlant Instrumentation databases
Essential Professional Licensure
Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Visio, Access, etc.

Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $98,300 - $159,300
