Job Description Project Manager – Commercial Electrical Construction

Full-Time | Onsite | Houston, TX

A growing commercial electrical contractor with 130+ employees and a $30M+ revenue portfolio is seeking an experienced

Project Manager

to oversee corporate interiors, ground-up, and light industrial electrical projects across the Houston area. This role offers stability, a tight-knit culture, and strong visibility with executive leadership.

About the Role

The Project Manager will oversee 2–4 active commercial electrical projects at a time, ranging from

$200K–$3M

in value. Work is primarily

corporate interiors

, with additional ground-up builds and small medical facilities such as imaging centers and clinics.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

Manage commercial electrical projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Lead project meetings and maintain consistent communication with clients, internal teams, and leadership.

Track project progress, labor hours, costs, and forecast constraints; identify issues early and implement corrective actions.

Visit job sites regularly to support superintendents and ensure safety and quality protocols are upheld.

Planning, Coordination & Execution

Review drawings, plans, and specifications to confirm work aligns with scope, code requirements (NEC/NFPA), and client expectations.

Coordinate closely with field crews, vendors, contractors, and internal estimating/finance teams.

Handle material procurement, purchase orders, submittals, and delivery schedules to keep crews supplied and projects moving efficiently.

Maintain accurate documentation, including RFIs, change orders, daily logs, and project reports.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the main point of contact for project owners, architects, GCs, and internal leadership.

Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships through consistent, solution-oriented communication.

Support continuous improvement by reviewing wins/challenges at project completion.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of Project Management experience

within commercial electrical construction.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, commercial construction workflows, and NEC/NFPA codes.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, design documents, and technical specifications.

Experience with

Accubid

(or similar estimating/project management platforms).

Hands‑on understanding of pricing, labor tracking, and budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience managing multiple commercial electrical projects in the $200K–$3M range.

Familiarity with corporate interiors, medical clinics, or ground‑up electrical scopes.
