We’re seeking a future team member for the role of US Partnerships & Investments to join our Digital Partnerships & Strategic Investments team. This role is located in New York, NY – 4 days in office per week expectation.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Identify partnership and investment opportunities for the bank, conducting due diligence of target companies, helping to manage portfolio companies, and performing a variety of other team duties
Engage with lines of business to understand key problem statements and business challenges where technology partnerships could provide opportunities to solve these
Develop deep industry and subject‑matter expertise in lines of business and technology trends through external research, ecosystem engagement and line‑of‑business support
Manage enterprise innovation programs to catalyze and accelerate adoption of new technologies, including BNY Mellon’s Ascent Program and Strategic Investments
Engage with key clients and senior stakeholders on thought leadership that responds to client needs, enhances BNY Mellon’s innovation brand and generates interest in wider firm solutions
Build the BNYM’s brand within the ecosystem in the region by attending or speaking at industry events and maintaining a deep network in the UK and European VC ecosystem, including entrepreneurs and venture capitalists
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred
5+ years in the global financial services, fintech industry and/or investment banking
10‑12 years of related experience preferred
Experience in the securities or financial services industry preferred
Solutions‑oriented team player with track record in executing across a diverse range of priorities
Intellectual curiosity, creative thinker; desire to constantly learn and continuously improve
Excellent ability to establish, develop, and maintain trust‑based relationships with key stakeholders
Ability to inspire others to action and draw on broader teams to deliver a superior outcome for clients and the firm
Ability to analyze problems or situations and apply a structured, analytical approach to developing solutions that progress our agenda and our clients’ needs
Technical ability to analyze, model and synthesize financial information and understand and analyze technical product information
Strong communication and presentation skills (both verbally and in writing); ability to articulate complex information in a clear and simple manner to a variety of audiences
Strong leadership; calm presence and ability to instill confidence in key stakeholders, internally and externally
Ability to navigate a matrixed organization

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $226,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long‑term incentive packages, and company‑sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at‑will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
