Opportunity As an Electrical Engineer you will function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead, providing guidance and expertise over project teams.
Develop design change packages for operating nuclear plant facilities and deliver sustainable solutions.
Create electrical drawing deliverables:
One line and three line diagrams
Electrical motor schematics, breaker control schematics and wiring diagrams
Power cable sizing and cable schedules
Complex engineering calculations: load flow, short circuit, motor starting (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), protective relay settings, battery and charger sizing
Schematics, interconnection diagrams and equipment layouts
Develop electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
Create man hour budgets and project schedules.
Attend on-site meetings, investigate existing conditions, interface with clients and support construction.
Use Microsoft Office, ProjectWise, and engineering software (ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD) to view and manipulate drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance on design guides, standards, codes and B&V policies.
Ensure compliance with B&V quality program and oversee quality management.
Prepare complex engineering deliverables and perform engineering research.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality; delegate tasks to junior engineers.
Coordinate with internal/external teams for medium to complex projects.
Assist with client interests, business development support, and strategy.
Mentor junior staff and foster knowledge management.
Support resource management and engineering resource responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Kansas or required state.
Project Lead experience and technical SME in nuclear plant design.
Experience in nuclear power plant or similar power generating facility design.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum 5 years related work experience.
Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).
Work Environment & Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion and job performance.
Location Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Overland Park, KS (Kansas City) or one of the following regional offices: Ann Arbor, MI; Chattanooga, TN; Cary, NC; Gaithersburg, MD.
Position requires U.S. citizenship in compliance with 10 CFR 810.
