We invite applications for the role of Program Director for the Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging Fellowship within the Department of Radiology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Position Overview Reporting to the Department Chair, the Program Director will provide oversight and supervision of educational and patient care outcomes in the fellowship program. The role involves collaboration with department leadership, GME leadership, hospital administrative leadership, and other applicable leadership to deliver operational leadership in partnership with OSUWMC.
Department Overview The Department of Radiology is experiencing rapid growth with expanded services at off‑site imaging centers and significant renovations through the medical center strategic expansion project. Faculty benefit from a supportive environment in clinical, research, and educational excellence, with dedicated expertise in imaging technology innovation, artificial intelligence, and health services research.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide leadership of the educational mission, ensuring trainee milestone achievement and oversight of faculty teaching performance.
Foster a safe learning environment that promotes interdisciplinary teamwork and high‑quality clinical services.
Assess fellowship quality outcome metrics, supporting resource utilization and adherence to protocols and guidelines.
Ensure supervision of physicians and trainees is commensurate with knowledge and skill levels.
Maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance with the Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and other bodies.
Lead recruitment of exceptional trainees and collaborate with the clinical department to retain high‑performing individuals.
Develop a nationally regarded training program and improve program rankings where applicable.
Encourage fellow involvement in the review and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and care protocols.
Monitor and track key indicators of program success, including trainee performance, evaluation data, surveys, procedure data, faculty development, and graduate performance.
Collaborate on the development and support of an educational curriculum that meets trainee needs.
Attend administrative meetings as necessary to support the program, department, and OSUWMC.
Ensure timely completion of documentation, including annual surveys, program updates, responses to citations/areas for improvement, training procedural data, and milestone reporting.
Requirements
M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR).
Subspecialty fellowship in Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging.
At least three years post‑fellowship experience.
Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
