Overview:
We are seeking a self‑motivated and highly experienced Configuration Management (CM) professional to join our DevSecOps Department/Cyber, Modeling and Simulation Division. In this role you will design and implement CM processes, manage hardware and software configuration items, support product development and manufacturing handover, and continuously improve CM procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency across our engineering portfolio.
Responsibilities
Assist in the selection and evaluation of technology to support program development and define processes and standards for Undersea Systems Office and Communications, Information, and Navigation Office levels.
Evaluate and facilitate orderly management of technical/engineering changes to hardware, software, and technical data.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including participation in customer meetings.
Provide technical leadership during product and project lifecycles, resolving configuration management issues.
Develop and provide training, advice, and guidance for integrating new technologies, environments, and processes into engineering departments.
Collaborate with ARL IT to maintain and configure CM tools on servers and clients, manage licenses, and establish automation and access controls.
Develop Software Configuration Management metrics reports.
Implement configuration management processes and procedures in line with industry best practices and company standards.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and document configuration items.
Maintain accurate configuration management databases and repositories.
Conduct audits and reviews to ensure consistency and accuracy of configuration items.
Identify and resolve configuration discrepancies in a timely manner.
Provide guidance to team members on CM processes and procedures.
Continuously monitor and improve CM processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Work with project managers and stakeholders to ensure all configuration changes are documented and approved.
Communicate and report on CM status and progress to project teams and management.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in CM practices and tools.
Train and mentor junior CM team members.
Collaborate with software development teams to ensure proper version control and release management.
Participate in customer meetings and provide technical expertise on CM matters.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of US Government or industry configuration management practices.
Experience with tools such as source control systems and problem tracking tools.
Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate with management, engineers, or sponsors.
Able to collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Self‑driven with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Siemens TeamCenter and Atlassian JIRA.
Active government security clearance.
Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or programming/scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, Python, Perl).
Security & Eligibility
Must be a U.S. citizen and subject to a background investigation.
Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen required.
Salary Salary range:
$76,700 – $129,500
(may vary by grade and geographic differential).
The range applies across all possible grades.
