We are seeking highly motivated, self-starting DevSecOps Research and Development Engineers to join our team in the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. These positions would work out of our State College, PA, Reston, VA, San Diego, CA or Hawaii locations/offices.
ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Responsibilities
Design and implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
Manage continuous integration and delivery pipeline to maximize efficiency
Improving systems through updates and optimizations using various technologies
Present program overviews, proposals, and technical briefings at internal and external events
Coordinate with sponsors and team members to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity on a day to day basis
Qualifications
Minimally requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline. Additional experience and/or education are required for higher level jobs.
Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Ansible
Experience with version control software such as Git
Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with logging, search, and/or aggregation tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Prometheus
Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems
Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management
Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience
Working with Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
Working knowledge in Java, C/C++, and Matlab
Familiarity with VMWare virtualization tools
Familiarity with GitLab
Experience with databases such as SQL, PostreQL, and MySQL
Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services
Additional Details Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and will be required to obtain and maintain at least a SECRET clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Applicants with an active security clearance will be given preference. Employment with the ARL will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Salary range: $76,700.00 – $129,500.00. The proposed salary range may be impacted by geographic differential.
