HR Generalist

The DVSport team is seeking a proactive and resourceful HR Generalist to support the day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, recordkeeping, and employee relations. This role plays a key part in maintaining HR systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and promoting a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The ideal candidate for this role is dependable, organized, and communicative, with a solid understanding of HR practices and labor regulations. They should have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving mindset and the ability to handle multiple HR tasks efficiently. The HR Generalist will support HR processes, assist in improving employee experience and retention, help ensure compliance, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment aligned with the organization's values. Primary Responsibilities:
Administer HR Policies and Procedures
Interpret and apply company policies consistently
Assist in policy development, updates and communication to staff
Employee Relations & Support
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, workplace concerns, and benefits
Provide guidance on conflict resolution, performance concerns, and policy interpretation
Conduct initial investigations into complaints or incidents, document findings, and escalate issues when appropriate to leadership or legal counsel
Benefits Administration
Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, and questions
Liaise with insurance and retirement plan providers
Track eligibility and process life event changes
Collaborate with leadership on annual benefits plan renewals
Recruitment & Onboarding
Assist with the full recruitment life cycle, including coordinating job postings, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring managers during the selection process
Facilitate onboarding processes, including preparing offer letters, setting up new employees in internal systems (including HRIS, payroll, benefits platforms, etc.), and collecting and processing new hire documentation
Performance Management
Assist in scheduling and tracking performance reviews, follow up on goal setting, and support supervisors with documentation and performance improvement plans.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
Ensure the organization complies with applicable labor laws across states (e.g., wage and hour, FMLA, ADA, EEOC).
Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee records
Maintain and update HR systems and databases.
Training and Development
Support coordination of internal training sessions or external learning opportunities.
Exit & Offboarding Process
Facilitate smooth transitions for departing employees, including conducting exit interviews, processing terminations, and ensuring final documentation is complete.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resources management
Hands-on experience in a HR Generalist role or similar position
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of multi-state labor laws and regulations
Experience managing remote work and staff travel preferred
Strong people and interpersonal skills
Highly organized
