Transportation Engineer – Entry to Mid‑Level
Barry Isett & Associates is an employee‑owned engineering/consulting firm headquartered in Allentown, PA, with offices throughout eastern and central PA. We are seeking an Entry‑to‑Mid‑Level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Services Department.

Overview The Transportation Services Department offers a full range of transportation services to municipalities, school districts, and private sector clients. Services include:
Traffic Impact Studies
Safety Studies & Audits
Traffic Signal Retiming & Design
Traffic‑calming Design
School‑zone Design
Intersection Design
Roadway Design
Tail & Bikeway Design
Right‑of‑way conveyance coordination
Existing pavement analysis
Construction Management
PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permitting (HOP)
Railroad Crossing Design
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Participate in multiple projects concurrently, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Prepare and review road/street design drawings and documents in support of PennDOT approvals.
Conduct studies and analyses related to traffic impact, safety, and right‑of‑way.
Assist with project coordination, cost estimation, and construction management tasks.
Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
Entry to mid‑level experience (up to 5 years) in road/street design.
PennDOT approval experience.
Preferred: EIT certification.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering software.
Experience with Synchro & HCS.
Technical knowledge in equipment selection and cost estimating.
