Description Barry Isett & Associates is an employee-owned multi-discipline engineering/consulting firm headquartered in Allentown, PA, with additional offices throughout eastern and central PA. As a multi-discipline firm, Isett provides a full range of engineering and consulting services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, code enforcement, plan review, construction management, construction materials testing, and grant writing services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our transportation services department is currently hiring an entry to mid-level civil engineer with up to 5 years’ experience in road/street design and PennDOT approval experience.
Responsibilities
Design and review road and street projects, including traffic engineering studies such as traffic impact studies, safety studies & audits, traffic signal retiming, traffic signal design, traffic‑calming design, school‑zone design, intersection design, roadway design, tail & bikeway design, right‑of‑way conveyance coordination, and existing pavement analysis.
Coordinate construction management tasks and PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permitting (HOP) processes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on multiple projects simultaneously and communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Provide technical knowledge and support in areas such as equipment selection and cost estimating.
Requirements
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
EIT preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D) or similar engineering software.
Experience with Synchro & HCS.
Knowledge of PennDOT standards and approval procedures.
