This role ensures accuracy in accounting records, timely reporting, and compliance with established policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager supports leadership by providing clear, accurate financial information to help guide operational decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Financial Operations & Reporting Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger Ensure smooth functioning of day-to-day financial transactions and processes Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial statements in accordance with GAAP and hospitality industry standards (USALI), in collaboration with our 3rd-party accounting team Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition and daily reconciliations across properties Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud Budget Support & Analysis Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts by providing accurate historical data and variance explanations. Track budget-to-actual performance and flag variances to leadership for review. Support cash management by ensuring timely deposits, vendor payments, and reconciliations. Partner with General Managers and Department Heads to ensure accurate expense coding, labor tracking, and adherence to accounting procedures. Provide property teams with regular financial updates and training on accounting best practices. Support the leadership with analysis and reports as needed. Process Improvement & Systems Management Maintain and optimize hospitality accounting software and related systems. Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency of accounting workflows. Support system upgrades and process documentation to ensure consistency across properties. External Coordination Support audit preparation and assist with external reporting requests. Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely payments and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations. Other Duties Perform other financial responsibilities as assigned to support Weekender Hotels’ mission and growth, including support of Weekender’s affiliated partner Northbound Capital. Success Measures Financial records are accurate, complete, and reconciled on time each month. Leadership and General Managers receive clear, actionable financial reports that help guide daily operational decisions. Accounting processes across all properties are standardized, compliant, and efficient. Vendor payments, payroll, and revenue reconciliations are processed promptly and accurately. Budget tracking and variance explanations are provided proactively, supporting data‑driven decision making. Audit preparation and external reporting requests are handled efficiently and with minimal rework. Collaboration between Accounting, Operations, and Corporate teams is strong, consistent, and solutions‑focused. Internal controls and documentation are well maintained, minimizing financial risk and positioning the company for growth.
