$90,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr We are looking for an eager, well-rounded Human Resources Manager
in Santa Barbara.
This is not a remote position and is full time based in Santa Barbara, California. Candidates must be well versed in California-specific labor law.
This position requires a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to evaluation. If you have a passion for HR, are familiar with California labor law, and look to expand your career in the field, this is a great opportunity.
Your role as an HR Manager will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, such as coordinating training, administering employee and client benefits and leaves, and crafting and implementing new HR policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You’ll act as the main point of contact for employees’ and client queries on all HR-related topics. Compensation is dependent on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities
Administer compensation and benefit plans. Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes. Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives. Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise. Promote HR programs and initiatives. Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies. Undertake tasks around performance management. Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates. Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews. Maintain employee and client files and records in electronic form. Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly. Ensure compliance with CA labor regulations.
Skills
Proven experience as a California HR Generalist or Manager. HR training and certifications (PHR, SHRM, etc.) are required. Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures. Good knowledge of employment/labor laws. Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Paycom, ADP, Paychex, Paylocity) will be a plus. Excellent communication and people skills. Aptitude in problem-solving. Desire to work as a team. BS/BA in Business administration or relevant field.
