The Assistant Store Manager will coordinate and support activities to optimize store revenues and savings, improve productivity, and ensure the delivery of outstanding service to all customers. She/he will be responsible for the efficient and profitable management of the retail location when the store manager is unavailable. Essential Functions:

Here are the duties that define the core responsibilities of the job: Operate in accordance with the established hours of business and ensure proper staffing. Maintain high standards of store conditions at all times. Meet performance standards and goals regularly. Control and minimize store expenses. Maintain sufficient cash and change for daily needs. Ensure the safety of customers and employees at all times. Maintain excellent customer relations, including training employees on customer service. Schedule interviews and recommend hiring of store employees. Conduct initial and recurrent training on policies and procedures. Assist with employee performance evaluations and discussions. Recommend employee raises. Enforce personnel, loss prevention, and operational policies. Investigate and resolve employee complaints and conflicts. Ensure accurate recording of hours worked. Process, price, tag, hang, and display merchandise to maximize sales. Develop strategies to increase sales and efficiency. Expand the local donor base. Establish and monitor cash-handling procedures. Prepare and review sales reports, invoices, and other financial documents. Answer employee questions regarding policies and procedures. Conduct periodic store-employee meetings. Ensure proper stock levels and organize the back-room area. Train employees on security and loss prevention policies. Ensure timely bank deposits. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the store environment. Conduct employee bag and locker checks regularly. Prepare and review banking documents and store reports. Responsible for payroll reconciliation in the absence of the Store Manager. Qualifications:

Some college preferred; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Two (2) years of supervisory and retail experience. Experience in supervision and training of staff in store operations. Ability to work flexible hours. Skills Required:

Outstanding organizational skills, ability to calculate amounts, working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications. Scope of Responsibility & Positions Supervised:

Direct supervision of sales staff and production staff. Reports directly to the retail manager. Special Working Conditions:

Primarily indoor work environment. Donated goods may be dusty or soiled. May require wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
