Head of Data Architecture | Snowflake Elite/Premier Partner Background | Remote (US)
Our client, a rapidly scaling FinTech, is seeking a Head of Data Architecture with deep Snowflake expertise gained at an Elite or Premier Partner organisation. This role reports directly to the CTO and is responsible for defining the long-term data strategy and architectural standards across the organisation.
The Opportunity: Own and evolve the enterprise data architecture strategy, establishing frameworks for data modelling, governance, security, and platform evolution. Act as the technical authority on all architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business objectives.
Define and implement data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across the organisation. Lead architectural reviews, provide technical guidance to engineering teams, and ensure solutions meet enterprise-grade requirements for security, compliance, and performance.
Partner with business and technology leadership to translate strategic objectives into data architecture roadmaps. Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations on platform investments, tooling, and architectural evolution.
Essential Requirements:
Snowflake Elite or Premier Partner experience
8+ years in data architecture and engineering with minimum 5 years in senior architectural roles
Advanced Snowflake architecture expertise including:
Enterprise data modeling (Data Vault, Dimensional, Data Mesh)
Multi-account strategies and governance frameworks
Security architecture (RBAC, data masking, encryption, compliance)
Cost optimization and performance tuning at enterprise scale
Data sharing, marketplace, and cross-platform integration patterns
Proven experience designing data architectures across multiple clients/industries (consulting background highly valued)
Deep understanding of modern data stack ecosystem and integration patterns
Experience with cloud platform architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP) and data lake/lakehouse patterns
Strong ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
Track record of creating architectural standards, documentation, and governance frameworks
Highly Desirable:
Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, Advanced Architect)
Experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, Atlan)
Knowledge of DataOps, data observability, and metadata management
Familiarity with AI/ML platform architecture and feature stores
Experience transitioning from consulting to in-house leadership roles
