Head of Data Engineering | Snowflake Elite/Premier Partner Background | Remote (US)
Our client, a rapidly scaling FinTech, is seeking a Head of Data Engineering with deep Snowflake expertise gained at an Elite or Premier Partner organisation. This role reports directly to the CTO and offers genuine technical leadership with executive-level influence.
The Opportunity Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise-scale Snowflake environments while building a high-performing data engineering team. Own the technical roadmap for the data platform, applying best-in-class practices developed through consulting or partner-level experience.
Take full ownership of Snowflake architecture decisions, including performance tuning, cost optimisation, security frameworks, and data governance. Build and scale a team that delivers production-grade solutions aligned with business objectives.
Drive strategic initiatives around data quality, observability, and platform maturity. Work cross‑functionally with Product, Analytics, and Engineering leadership to establish the data infrastructure as a competitive advantage.
Essential Requirements
Snowflake Elite or Premier Partner experience
7+ years in data engineering with minimum 3 years leading technical teams
Advanced Snowflake expertise including:
Multi‑cluster warehouse optimization and cost management
Data sharing, secure views, and governance frameworks
Integration patterns with modern data stack tools
Hands‑on experience with dbt, Airflow/Prefect, and Python for data pipeline development
Cloud platform expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP) with Snowflake‑native integrations
Track record of architecting solutions across multiple clients/industries (consulting background valued)
Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate technical concepts to executive audiences
Highly Desirable
Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, Advanced Architect, or similar)
Experience transitioning from consulting to in‑house leadership roles
Knowledge of reverse ETL, data observability tools (Monte Carlo, Datafold), and DataOps practices
