Collins Aerospace is looking for an Electronics Project Engineer to support the Engine Controls & Accessories (EC&A) Digital Controls product line team. This team works across the full range of the product life cycle for digital controllers including software development, hardware improvements, obsolescence management, and cyber security across various engine and airframe customers.

What You Will Do

Work as the leader of a multi-disciplinary engineering team with support from program management and operations (CIPT Lead)

Lead communications to internal and external stakeholders on project development plans, status, and risks

Support implementation of Digital Controls product line strategic and technology initiatives

Support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety

Develop and oversee technical plans, schedules, assigned resources, and budgets, aligning engineering activities with program milestones and deliverables

Act as the primary engineering interface with program management, customers, and other stakeholders to communicate technical progress, risks, and opportunities

Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management, to ensure seamless integration of engineering deliverables

Drive accountability within the Program Management Team (PMT) to meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance

Measure and predict project performance using earned value methods to drive compliance to contract requirements and ensure on‑time deliverables

Direct the work of employees assigned to projects in technical areas

Prepare proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract

Identify and mitigate risks, resolve technical challenges, and implement corrective actions to ensure program success

Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the engineering PMT

Prepare and conduct technical reviews, design reviews, and program status briefings for leadership and customers

Ensure compliance with engineering processes, standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and minimum 5 years of experience; bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or a related field)

Qualifications We Prefer

Program Management experience in aerospace or defense systems, including design, development, analysis, testing, and production processes

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex technical projects, balancing competing priorities and achieving program goals

Experience with risk management, systems engineering principles, and configuration management tools

Prior CAM and EVMS experience

Experience with all aspects of the development product life cycle

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve operational goals

Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations, DO-160, DO‑178, DO‑254

Salary range: $101,000 – $203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
