About The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. You will have the opportunity to work with an experienced and highly motivated team. The role will be focused on programming and supporting CNC Turning of nickel forgings, nickel castings, and aluminum castings.

Responsibilities
Determine a sequence of operations for NPI parts, support/improve flow for existing products, create and update routings, operation sketches, PFMEAs, perform capacity analysis, evaluate process capabilities and troubleshoot CNC processes.
Leverage experience with various CNC machines including lathes, milling, EDM and others to support existing product families & NPI, and identify/select machine replacements.
Develop CNC programs using machine controls and NX CAD/CAM software.
Design tooling solutions for material removal (custom tool holders for clearances, special part features) and work‑holding/fixturing (pie jaws, rings, clamps, covers, etc.) to optimize machining processes and account for part movement.
Provide guidance to team members and collaborate with machinists to improve mistake‑proofing, quality and production targets.
Gather feedback from the machinists and incorporate it to improve existing programs and processes for better efficiency and process capability.
Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, models, fixturing, and tooling information for traceability.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
Lead implementation of continuous improvement ideas and participate in Kaizen workshops.
Identify potential areas where the shop could use more training and document it.
Address manufacturing and quality issues using root‑cause analysis and soft skills.
Required Qualifications
Teamwork and Initiative: Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Communication and Organization: Strong communication and organizational skills.
Minimum 3 years of CNC Turning programming experience with Nickel or Aluminum alloys and machining processes (machine selection, tool selection, work‑holding selection, setup knowledge, process troubleshooting). Stainless or Ti experience is considered equivalent.
Adaptability to changing business needs.
Skilled in troubleshooting technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar from an ABET‑accredited school, or 8 years of relevant CNC turning programming in the absence of a degree.
Minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience in CNC turning programming as a Manufacturing Engineer for candidates with a bachelor’s degree.
Experience reading and interpreting GD&T on blueprints, process specifications, and technical drawings in aerospace or comparable regulated industry.
Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret blueprints and sketches accurately.
Working Conditions
Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Must be able to engage in prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer.
Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
