Our client, a leading manufacturer of food packaging products, is seeking a Paper Process Engineer to join their team in Federalsburg, MD. You will play a key role in managing and improving process control systems—from raw materials to finished products. This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects, optimize production efficiency, and drive innovation in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

Manage and complete projects of varying sizes and durations

Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and designers to optimize processes

Lead process failure investigations and implement long‑term solutions

Conduct feasibility studies for fabrication and processing improvements

Assist with assembly and disassembly of process equipment

Troubleshoot and implement engineering solutions to enhance operations

Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and processes

Work closely with production teams to improve efficiency and product quality

Create test parameters and analyze performance data for process optimization

Develop and execute continuous improvement plans

Mentor and guide junior engineers

What you will bring

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Experience analyzing production equipment, processes and materials and solving issues

Proven experience in project management

Strong coordination and leadership skills

Ability to conduct feasibility studies and troubleshoot engineering issues

Experience in developing SOPs and continuous improvement plans

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; additional travel may be required during critical projects or business demands

Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport

Valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
