We are seeking an experienced and strategic
FPGA Engineering Manager
to lead and coordinate our FPGA development teams across multiple sites and product lines. This leadership role is critical to ensuring design consistency, best practices, and high‑quality deliverables across a broad portfolio of hardware platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in FPGA design, strong project and people management skills, and the ability to align technical execution with business goals.
As the FPGA Manager, you will oversee planning, development, integration, and delivery of FPGA solutions that support cutting‑edge products across various industries, such as aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or industrial automation. You will work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure FPGA designs meet performance, cost, and schedule objectives.
The successful candidate will present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, as well as participate in proposal‑writing efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Lead FPGA engineering teams across multiple geographical locations and product lines.
Define and enforce standardized design methodologies, reuse strategies, and quality assurance processes across teams to support a consistent FPGA development lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define FPGA requirements and interfaces.
Manage resource allocation, project schedules, and technical risks across programs.
Mentor and grow engineering talent.
Conduct performance reviews and career development planning.
Track and report status of FPGA projects to executive stakeholders; proactively identify and resolve issues.
Lead strategic planning for FPGA technology adoption, roadmap alignment, and IP reuse.
Engage with vendors on toolchain evaluation, roadmap alignment, and support.
Job Requirements And Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in FPGA design and development.
3+ years in technical leadership or management of FPGA or digital hardware teams.
Proven experience delivering complex FPGA solutions.
Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog, simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim, Questa), synthesis, timing analysis, and FPGA implementation.
Familiarity with AMD (Xilinx), Intel (Altera), and/or Microchip FPGA toolchains and platforms.
Strong knowledge of digital signal processing, high‑speed interfaces, and SoC integration.
Experience with configuration management, design reviews, and formal verification methods.
Demonstrated ability to lead geographically distributed teams and manage multiple concurrent programs.
Salary Range:
$162,000 - $195,000 per year
