Base Pay Range $90,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr
Company Overview MidPoint is a growing mid‑sized regional low voltage integrator focused on commercial projects throughout the DMV. We are looking for a Field Engineer to support our Audio Visual team. This role involves working both in the field and in the office with a focus on system commissioning, programming (in conjunction with our programming team), configuration, and documentation management.
Duties
Field closeout & commissioning of complex audiovisual & control systems
Creation, modification, and tuning of audio DSP files for manufacturers such as Biamp, QSC, Polycom, BSS, Extron, Crestron, Clearone; testing and troubleshooting
Configuration of networking components, video conferencing, audio & video switching, projection, displays, video walls, cameras, microphones, and audio DSP equipment
Use of laptop and test equipment to ensure proper installation and quality control; full system functionality testing and troubleshooting
Configure networked AV devices, networked audio (AVB, Dante), Video over IP (NVX, SVSI, NAV), video conferencing endpoints (Cisco, Polycom), and unified communication platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx)
Client training and demonstration, creation and review of training manuals
Configure and load control equipment for manufacturers such as Crestron, Q‑Sys, AMX, Extron
Collaborate with engineering team & management to develop internal commissioning documents, best practices, and standards
Document system configurations, commissioning reports, review redline drawings for as‑built accuracy, communicate punch lists, daily reports, and programming coordination details
Perform system evaluations of engineering schematics & field drawings/documents; conduct site visits and documentation as needed
Assist with project closeout documentation and obtaining customer acceptance forms
Skills
Experience deploying control systems including Crestron, AMX, Extron, & QSC and associated software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong proficiency with cable terminations (audio, video, Category cabling, fiber, and control) – a plus
Technical degree or CTS preferred; minimum of 3 years with direct experience in AV and system commissioning; CTS‑I or CTS‑D is a bonus
Certifications from Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, QSC, Polycom, and others are a plus
Self‑motivated with strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and work at height as needed
