About the Role A high-growth, engineering-focused technology integrator is seeking a Field Engineer to join their Audio Visual division. This role is ideal for a technically strong, self-driven professional who enjoys a mix of field and office work and wants to elevate their career within a high-performing integration environment.

You will play a central role in system commissioning, equipment configuration, DSP tuning, networked AV setup, documentation, and client-facing system handover. The Field Engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, programming, and operations teams to ensure that every system is delivered to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on, impactful position with opportunities for advanced certifications, technical growth, and long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

Perform field closeout and full commissioning of complex audiovisual and control systems.

Create, modify, and tune DSP files across multiple platforms (Biamp, QSC, Polycom, BSS, Extron, Crestron, ClearOne), including testing and troubleshooting.

Configure AV and IT equipment including network devices, conferencing systems, audio/video switching, displays, video walls, cameras, microphones, and projection systems.

Use laptops and test equipment to verify quality of installation and ensure full system functionality.

Configure and support networked AV technologies including Dante, AVB, Video over IP (NVX, SVSI, NAV), and conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, Webex, Cisco, Polycom).

Load, configure, and validate control systems (Crestron, Q-Sys, AMX, Extron) in collaboration with in-house programmers.

Provide end-user training, demonstrations, and assist with creation of training manuals when required.

Work with engineering and management teams to refine commissioning standards, best practices, and internal documentation processes.

Produce commissioning reports, document system configurations, verify redline drawings, and support programming coordination efforts.

Conduct site visits for evaluations, review engineering schematics, and assist with as-built accuracy.

Assist in project closeout documentation and securing customer acceptance sign-offs.

What We’re Looking For

A technically strong, self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills.

Proven experience commissioning AV systems, including Crestron, AMX, Extron, and QSC.

Strong ability to terminate audio, video, category cabling, control cable, and (preferably) fiber.

Solid networking experience and understanding of IP-based AV infrastructure.

Ability to manage multiple tasks across field and office environments while maintaining detail and accuracy.

A problem-solver who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.

Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs and working at height as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical degree or CTS certification (CTS-I or CTS-D a major plus).

3+ years of direct AV integration or system commissioning experience.

Certifications or training from Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, QSC, Poly, ClearOne, or similar.

Experience configuring Dante, AVB, Video over IP platforms, and unified communication endpoints.

Familiarity with industry standards, commissioning documentation, and quality assurance workflows.

Why Join

Competitive compensation with strong benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Extensive access to professional development, certifications, and hands-on training across AV, Control Systems, Networking, and emerging technologies.

Work in a dynamic, collaborative, fast-growing technical environment where high performers thrive.

Contribute to complex, high-visibility technology integrations across the DMV region.

Join a team that values expertise, innovation, and continuous improvement.
