Job Details: Mercer University's College of Health Professions is searching for a Coordinator of Experiential Learning for the Physician Assistant Program on the Atlanta campus.
Responsibilities
:
The Coordinator of Experiential Learning has the responsibility of coordination and oversight for the administrative responsibilities of the clinical year for the Physician Assistant Program in the College of Health Professions at Mercer University. This position is responsible for coordination clinical practicums with preceptors. The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple higher-level tasks simultaneously, possess excellent time management skills, and work with changing priorities throughout the clinical year. Exceptional organizational skills are required with excellent attention to detail. This person must be able to communicate clearly, effectively and correctly in both verbal and written form, as well as exhibit professionalism. They must work extremely well in a team environment yet possess the capacity to work independently. This person will serve as the first-line contact for clinical students and Preceptors for the Physician Assistant Program and must be comfortable speaking directly to physicians, clinical office staff, and working directly with students in a clinical setting.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to assist preceptors with the effective use of E*Value software.
Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge related to use of Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) to create presentations, policies, database, assessment tools, rotation materials, and necessary documents.
Proficient in database management - ability to maintain database, contact information, and rotation information within the E*Value system.
Ability to utilize E*VOS for the creation and maintenance of the clinical schedule annually.
Capability to use various software/programs used by the University (e.g. FRS, R25 room scheduling, Microsoft Outlook)
Demonstrate ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality of program, faculty, and student records.
Skilled in providing effective and clear inter-office communications, customer service skills, operation of multi-line phone system, effective work relationships, and US and interdepartmental mail handling procedures.
Ability to maintain professional posture with students and guests.
Ability to be a team player and work well with others within the PA Program.
Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with all members of the University.
Ability to engage with and recruit members of the healthcare team to be clinical preceptors for the PA Program.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing and Sales, Biology/Sciences, Human Resources, Health Information, or a related degree is required, along with three years of directly relevant experience that could include sales/marketing, recruitment, prior experience in a health sciences-related environment, and/or prior experience in a healthcare environment.
