General Summary: This individual leads, plans, synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements and carries out the complex responsibility of designing, standardizing, implementing, validating, and executing complex test methodologies for commercializing the Cellular (or Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN)) modem as a product or component within a product. With expertise in 3GPP WWAN specifications (notably LTE and 5GNR), performs end‑to‑end performance/functional analysis of advanced multi‑RAT (Radio Access Technology) cellular modems and optimizes system performance based on data analysis from lab and/or live networks. Works closely with modem systems, software, hardware, and firmware teams to characterize, certify, and commercialize a cost‑effective, high‑capability, high‑performance modem that meets industry‑leading quality metrics and customer requirements. Conducts log analyses with team members to identify issues, recommends solutions, verifies that solutions address issues without impacting other functionalities, reviews functional test and adds additional test cases, parses results documents to assist the team in determining root causes of testing errors, determines the best ways to debug, prioritizes errors, and identifies test requirements with minimal oversight. Participates in project review sessions, delivers constructive feedback, serves as a mentor and teaches complex features, systems, testing strategies, and automation, handles general technical issues, escalates only highly complex issues, determines whether testing should be in the field or lab, ensuring all scenarios are covered in the test plans, collaborates with functional and lab teams, network operators, field teams, and product management to ensure accurate testing plans, implements testing plans by attempting to cause failure in multiple areas of code, and acts as a strong contributor to design reviews and project meetings while communicating and implementing a development plan.
Will accept a Master’s Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and one (1) year of experience in a related occupation. Will also accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in the same fields and five (5) years of progressive experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
Pay Range: $130,600.00 – $195,800.00/year
