A leading global architecture and engineering firm with 10 offices worldwide is seeking a Senior Project Manager for their Washington D.C. office. This established firm specializes in transformative design across multiple sectors, with offices strategically located throughout the United States. Their portfolio encompasses federal, healthcare, aviation, education, and commercial projects, delivered through integrated architecture, engineering, and interior design services.
The Senior Project Manager will lead complex federal and design build projects from initiation through successful delivery. This role serves as the primary client liaison while overseeing all aspects of project execution, including budgets, schedules, quality control, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution
Develop and oversee strategic plans throughout the project lifecycle, establishing scope, goals, deliverables, and QA/QC protocols.
Plan, track, and manage project timelines, milestones, and critical path activities.
Draft budget proposals and recommend adjustments as needed to ensure financial success.
Ensure quality standards are met and risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
Team Management & Collaboration
Lead and mentor project team members and contractors, fostering accountability and high performance.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines.
Provide coaching and professional development to junior staff.
Client Relations & Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and executive presentations.
Participate in client interviews and business development efforts.
Requirements Required
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
10+ years of project management experience
Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
Ability to develop relationships with internal teams and external clients
Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through completion
Positive, collaborative attitude as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
Market-specific certifications
Background in mentoring junior professionals and coordinating across disciplines
Position may require travel for project-related activities.
The studio operates on a flexible hybrid schedule with three days in their collaborative office environment and two days working remotely, offering an ideal balance between in-person collaboration and remote flexibility.
