Position Summary The Quality Control Source Inspector will be required to comprehend specifications to determine testing/inspection procedures and equipment to be used. The Inspector will represent Oceaneering at supplier premises and/or Oceaneering facilities to validate the quality of fabrications and finished goods, ensuring compliance with purchase requirements.
Location: Requires daily onsite attendance at facility or at supplier location, as needed; this is not a remote‑work position.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential)
Perform visual, dimensional, and technical inspections on fabricated and machined components, materials, and assemblies to ensure they meet acceptance criteria, quality code and applicable standards.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including understanding tolerances and technical requirements.
Review and verify documentation (such as MTRs, coating reports, NDE reports, FAT reports, and CoC) against required standards.
Conduct various types of inspections, such as FAT, SIT, FAI, in‑process, final, and receiving inspections.
Document each inspection promptly and accurately and prepare written reports to authorize release of conforming products.
Initiate non‑conformances, assist with investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Oversee inspection activities at the supplier's site in accordance with inspection and test plans, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, project management, and supply chain teams to ensure conforming product, documentation and service quality is maintained.
Coordinate with the supplier to arrange inspections of activities at their site, ensuring compliance with inspection and test plans and purchasing requirements.
Ensure all measurement equipment used for inspection is calibrated.
Escalate issues when beyond the scope of the position.
Operate effectively within established procedures and guidelines, requiring minimal supervision.
Mentor or provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and technicians.
Demonstrate advanced professional communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with peers, management and suppliers.
Ensure all existing working procedures, practices and systems are followed.
Ensure traceability of products in accordance with requirements.
Strictly adhere to all relevant safety procedures and policies internally or at inspection sites.
Work with minimal instruction and supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities (Other)
Assist more experienced technicians and professionals in technical tasks.
Assist in developing and improving documentation such as quality procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and checklists.
Participate in STOP audits and HSSE safety observation audits; attend HSSE related meetings.
Drive continuous improvement – identify non‑conformities to internal processes and drive corrective and preventive actions to completion.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Minimum 3‑5 years of quality control experience or combination of education, experience and training.
Proficient in using test and measurement equipment, and functional gauges.
Demonstrated expertise in Nondestructive Testing (NDT) methods and techniques, including hands‑on experience with various examination procedures.
Must be able to perform dimensional checks and visual verifications of raw material, fasteners, fabricated and machined parts to acceptance criteria.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desired
Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of ISO 17020 and ISO 17025.
Knowledge in NDT methodologies.
CWI Certification.

Working Conditions This position is considered SHOP WORK which is characterized as follows:
Generally, work performed indoors (80%) and occasionally outdoors (20%). Hours of work depend on shift assigned.
Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
Work surface is stable (flat).
Requires a great deal of manual dexterity, such as working with measuring and testing equipment, marking and hand/power tools.
Physical Activity / Requirements This position is considered MEDIUM work.
OCCASIONAL
Lift 20‑50 pounds.
Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands.
Identify color differences.
Wear PPE for skin protection.

Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects.
