This role demands a strong command of precision measurement techniques, inspection of fabricated and machined components, and verification of welds, finishes, and complete assemblies. The Quality Inspector is critical to maintaining product integrity, minimizing rework, and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machined, fabricated, and welded parts used in mixers and agitators
Verify dimensional accuracy of shafts, impellers, housings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components using a wide range of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, surface roughness testers, etc.)
Inspect welds, surface finishes, coatings, and assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
Interpret and apply engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements for complex components
Conduct functional and performance checks as required (e.g., run-out, concentricity, shaft straightness, impeller blade angle verification)
Use advanced tools such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or portable measuring arms when applicable
Provide feedback to machinists, welders, and assemblers to address quality issues at the source
Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring defects

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or diploma in machining, mechanical engineering, or quality assurance preferred.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving rotating equipment, mixers, pumps, or industrial machinery.
Job Requirements
Proficiency in using a broad range of precision measuring instruments (manual and digital)
Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection methods, GD&T, and engineering drawing interpretation
Familiarity with inspection of welds, surface finishes, coatings, and mechanical assemblies
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems; experience with API, ASME, or other industry standards is a plus
Competence with QMS software and Microsoft Office for documentation
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Effective communication with production, engineering, and quality teams
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and priorities
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of components up to 50 lbs
