What You Will Do:
What you'll be challenged to do : The ideal candidate will lead a variety of transportation planning activities for a wide range of projects, including multimodal (highway, transit, bicycle/pedestrian, and advanced mobility) projects. Develops approaches to perform routine and complex assignments that leverage contemporary planning techniques. Assignments may involve development of planning guidelines and policies that clients use to transform their communities.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Gathers and analyzes data/information to be used in planning and operational studies
Involved with Comprehensive Transportation Plans, Strategic Transportation Corridor
Master Plans or other corridor plans, PEL- type studies.
Assist with reading, interpreting, composing, and reviewing Planning Reports
Categorical Exclusions, EA's, EIRs, and other technical documents
Outlines study approach, process, methodology, and documentation methods
Collaborates as part of a multi-disciplinary project team within the Advanced Mobility Group and across the planning practice
Develop relationships and engages with clients, project stakeholders, and the public
Manages project efforts, budgets, and reports on project performance
Education | Experience: What you will bring to our firm:
Bachelor's degree in Transportation or Urban Planning or related field, Master's preferred
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) required or able to obtain within 1 year
10+ years of applicable experience
Knowledge of and experience with transportation planning practices
Strong management skills to ensure clients' requirements are met within schedule and budget
Demonstrated ability to ideate, define, and execute a scope of work
Demonstrated abilities in analysis, problem solving, and/or strategic thinking
Knowledge of transportation systems management and operations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe suite products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Experience with analyzing Geospatial information
Experience with sourcing, analyzing, and researching transportation related policies, data, and case studies
Established industry and academic networks
