The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.
TITLE: Nutrition Team Leader REPORTS TO: Director of School Nutrition
Performance Responsibilities: •Responsible for overseeing operations, including preparing and cooking foods according to established recipes. •Assist in the supervision and training of cafeteria staff. •Organize daily work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely food preparation and service. •Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations and school district guidelines. •Monitor food portioning, presentation, and quality for consistency and adherence to menu plans. •Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils. •Communicate effectively with staff, students and Food Service Director. •Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies. •Handle minor performance issues under the direction of the Food Service Director. Report any grievances to the Food Service Director. •Prepare production logs, and ensure accurate recordkeeping. •Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
Qualifications: •High school diploma or GED required. •Minimum 1-2 years experience in foodservice; supervisory or lead experience preferred. •Knowledge of USDA school meal regulations and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP). •ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). •Strong communication and organization skills. •Positive attitude and commitment to team collaboration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 6.5 hours per day for 184 days (school year)
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in writing by the Director of School Nutrition. Copy will be filed in Personnel File.
