EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) prior to starting OR obtain a MCHD Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment, and a permanent MCHD FSWP within 1 month of start date. Must have a valid MCHD FSWP throughout employment. Until a Temporary FSWP is obtained, may not handle exposed food or food contact surfaces, equipment, or utensils; may be trained on tray delivery and complete general department orientation. Complete MCHD Person-in-Charge (PIC) training when assigned. Successfully pass WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check if assigned to certain departments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. EXPERIENCE
Experience in the area functioning as a lead preferred. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows procedures for cashier cash-out, reports discrepancies, and helps investigate problems. Checks patient trays for accuracy and monitors diet menu compliance. Ensures standardized portions. Safety:
Follows safety policies, reports hazards and equipment failures, and enforces food safety codes. Sanitation:
Ensures proper use of cleaning chemicals, proper storage of sanitizing solutions, and cleanliness of work areas. Customer Service:
Provides exemplary service, addresses concerns promptly, and follows-up on issues and improvements. Staffing:
Coordinates with management on call-offs and staffing, and fairly distributes workload. Demonstrates effective team leadership. Communication:
Maintains effective communication with management, staff, and hospital personnel. Acts as departmental contact in absence of management. Cost Control:
Manages inventory to minimize waste and theft, and monitors food waste for adjustments. Training:
Plans and conducts training for new and current employees. Possesses thorough familiarity with all tasks and equipment in the area. Communicates effectively and is viewed as a team player. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs and lift 25 lbs regularly. Stand for extended periods with significant walking. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work in noisy areas, temperature variations, and meet daily deadlines. Interact with cafeteria customers, patients, and staff. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
