ENTRY-LEVEL TRAFFIC ENGINEER – White Plains, NY
Based at DTS Provident in White Plains, New York, this entry‑level Traffic Engineer will support the firm’s land use and development projects across the New York metropolitan area.
Job Description In this role you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of land planners, civil engineers, landscape architects, and other professionals to deliver intelligent land use solutions. Your duties will include assisting in the preparation of:
Traffic Impact Studies
Parking Studies
Conceptual Highway Design Plans
Highway Capacity Analysis
Traffic Signal Design
Intersection Design
Municipal Engineering and Traffic Safety Studies
Experience in Microsoft Office is required; proficiency in HCS and AutoCAD is a plus.
Responsibilities
Perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions.
Prepare traffic reports and conceptual designs.
Develop technical specifications, reports, and studies.
Address regulatory comments to obtain agency approvals.
Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and consultants.
Meet project schedules and deliver required documents on time.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
0–3 years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
Proficiency or willingness to learn software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land F/X, and GIS.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in multidisciplinary collaboration with planners and architects.
