Senior Project Engineer – Power Tools
Milwaukee Tool invites you to become a Senior Project Engineer – Power Tools (NPD) and lead design changes, derivative tool releases, and general maintenance of existing products while driving disruptive breakthroughs.
Responsibilities
Lead small to medium scale engineering projects and provide engineering support on mid-level complexity projects under the supervision of a Project Leader.
Work cross-functionally and globally with Quality & Reliability Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Service & Support, Marketing, and numerous other departments.
Evaluate product designs of projects to meet market-driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
Assist in developing comprehensive project plans and drive project execution to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets per project plans.
Monitor and track project progress and provide weekly project status updates to senior management and the project team.
Regularly visit manufacturing cells/suppliers to maintain open lines of communication and provide troubleshooting analysis as required.
Request and perform tests per established procedures.
Be accountable for technical elements of project execution including integration of complicated components and assemblies, material selection, packaging and safety, regulatory and standards compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent; preferred degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Ability to travel internationally & domestically several times a year (up to 20% travel).
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects.
Preferred high level of Mechanical/Electrical engineering aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
Working design knowledge of a wide variety of technologies associated with Milwaukee products.
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of design, testing, and manufacturing processes.
Able to provide a basic overview of upcoming workload and identify potential resource bottlenecks.
Understanding of DFMA and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead.
PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required.
